By accessing or using the Contractors Alliance Canada website located at contractorsalliancecanada.ca (the “Site”), including any tools, features, content, or services offered through the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). These Terms apply to all visitors, registered members, and any other users of the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any updates to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Contractors Alliance Canada (“CAC”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a community platform for Canadian tradespeople and contractors. The Site provides access to resources, community discussion, tools, and information relevant to operating a contracting business in Canada.
CAC is operated by a private individual based in Ontario, Canada. We are not a law firm, accounting firm, financial institution, insurance brokerage, or licensed professional services provider of any kind.
The Site includes an AI-powered tool called Contractor Copilot (“Copilot”). The following terms apply specifically to your use of this tool:
Contractor Copilot is designed to provide general information about topics relevant to Canadian contractors, including but not limited to WSIB, insurance, tax, employment standards, permits, contracts, and business operations. ALL information provided by Contractor Copilot is general in nature and for informational purposes only.

You should always consult a qualified and licensed professional — including but not limited to a lawyer, accountant, insurance broker, safety officer, or financial advisor — before making any decisions that could affect your business, finances, legal standing, or safety. Reliance on Contractor Copilot without seeking independent professional advice is done entirely at your own risk.
Contractor Copilot is powered by artificial intelligence. AI-generated responses may contain errors, outdated information, or inaccuracies. The tool does not have real-time access to legislation, regulatory databases, or current case law. Laws, regulations, and industry standards vary by province and change over time. We make no representations or warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information provided by Contractor Copilot.
Contractor Copilot may be subject to usage limits based on your membership tier. We reserve the right to modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue access to Contractor Copilot at any time without notice.
Contractor Copilot outputs are provided “as is” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We expressly disclaim all warranties related to the accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or completeness of AI-generated responses.
The Site offers free and paid membership tiers. By creating an account, you represent that:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abusive or fraudulent behaviour, or misuse any Site feature including Contractor Copilot.
You agree not to use the Site or any of its features to:
By posting content on the Site (including forum posts, comments, listings, or profile information), you grant Contractors Alliance Canada a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and use that content in connection with operating the Site.
You are solely responsible for any content you post. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, at our sole discretion.
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, tools (including Contractor Copilot), and software, is the property of Contractors Alliance Canada or its licensors and is protected by applicable Canadian and international intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any Site content without our express written permission. “Contractor Copilot” is a trademark of Contractors Alliance Canada. Unauthorized use of this mark is prohibited.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, resources, or services. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over third-party content and accept no responsibility or liability for any third-party websites or their content, privacy practices, or terms.
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Site, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
We collect and process personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Contractors Alliance Canada, its owners, operators, affiliates, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, including any AI-generated content.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Contractors Alliance Canada and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Some of our service providers, including Anthropic (AI processing) and Stripe (payments), are based in the United States. By using Contractor Copilot or making a payment on the Site, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which has different privacy laws than Canada.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that any cross-border transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards consistent with PIPEDA requirements.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
Contractor Copilot conversation data is not retained on our servers beyond the active session.
